In light of more than $1 billion in construction in Las Vegas last year, the city's Department of Building and Safety has introduced a website aimed at allowing residents, developers and architects to find out exactly how a particular permit is progressing.
Building permit plans can now be found round the clock at: http:// www.ci.las-vegas.nv.us/building.
The city continued on its record pace as one of the nation's fastest growing cities as seen in the following city statistics:
* On average, permits were issued for three new homes every working hour, for a total of 5,687 new homes.
* Roughly 1.4 new commercial permits were issued every day for a total of 541 new commercial buildings, with an additional 995 remodeled or expanded.
* A total of 288,238 building inspections were performed, an average of about 33 per day, per inspector.
* On average, 304 permits were approved each week, for a total of 15,809.
