Mildred E. Bartley, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 25, 1919, in Escanaba, Mich. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, John Wilson and Michael Emple, both of Wyandotte, Mich.; two daughters, Janis DeRouin and Barbara Emes, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Lloyd Eliason, and two sisters, Frances Mornson and Edith Zeno, both of Escanaba; two special caretakers/friends, Mariam Leisenring and Jeri Taurisano; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 4 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Julia Bleeck

Julia Bleeck, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born March 26, 1916, in New York City. A resident for two months, she was a retired artist.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan Philley of Las Vegas and Anita Cole of Beaverton, Ore.; one sister, Gertrude Kropf of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Frances Elaine Brennecke

Frances Elaine Brennecke, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 3, 1940, in Idaho. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one sister, Kathy Nuttings of Carson City.

Burial will be in Carson City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Bobbye Ann Collins

Bobbye Ann Collins, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Dyer, Tenn. A resident for nine years, she was a dealer.

She is survived by her companion, Darrel Kilen of Las Vegas; two daughters, Anita Baker of Tennessee and Janet Lee Ewell of Las Vegas; two sons, Luke Collins and Robert Baker, her mother, Juanita Thornton, and one brother, Linus Thornton, all of Tennessee; and five grandchildren.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Pearl Marie Faynola

Pearl Marie Faynola, 87, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 1, 1911, in Missouri. A resident for 10 years, she was a food director at a school district.

She is survived by two sons, Albert Faynola of Henderson and Jack Faynolia of Michigan; one daughter, Joan Bates, and one sister, Eva Ellis, both of Michigan; one brother, William Mathews of Oregon; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Michigan. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Geronimo Q. Garcia

Geronimo Q. Garcia, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 28, 1916, in the Philippines. A resident for five years, he was a retired miner.

He is survived by his wife, Emeteria; four sons, Eduardo Garcia, Gil Garcia and Amado Garcia, all of the Philippines, and Jaunito Garcia of Japan; four daughters, Rebecca Garcia, Aurora Garcia and Eleonor Garcia, all of Las Vegas, and Aurelio Garcia of Honolulu; two sisters, Bartola Garcia of the Philippines and Juanita Bacala of San Diego; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation was to begin with a 3 p.m. vigil today and continue until 6 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Graveside services will be Sunday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. George Makepeace

George Makepeace, 60, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born June 1, 1938, in Kansas City, Kan. A resident for six years, he was a computer technician.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Lisa Makepeace of Boca Raton, Fla., and Lynn Makepeace of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sons, Lewis Makepeace of Boca Raton and Larry Makepeace of Cleveland; one sister, Sue Wortman of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Frank Makepeace of Long Beach, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 301 S. Maryland Parkway. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Derek J. McGirth

Derek J. McGirth, 45, of Las Vegas died Jan. 14 in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 20, 1953, in New York City. A resident for 18 years, he was an Air Force weapons specialist.

He is survived by his wife, Junpen; two sons, Donald McGirth of Twentynine Palms, Calif., and David McGirth of Las Vegas; his mother, Cindy McKnight, and one sister, Peaches McKnight, both of New York.

Visitation will continue until a 6 p.m. memorial service today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Ruth Meyers

Ruth Meyers, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 29, 1913, in New York City. A resident for six years, she was a secretary/bookkeeper for a ship maintenance company and a member of the Longshoremen's Union.

She is survived by one daughter, Tania Healy; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Gregory Mydlowski, 75, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born June 27, 1923, in Wisconsin. A resident for six years, he was a Postal Service supervisor, an Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; one son, Gregory Mydlowski of Wisconsin; two daughters, Elizabeth Jackson of Las Vegas and Terry Gnader of Florida; one brother, Joe Mydlowski, and one sister, CeCe, both of Wisconsin; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St.

Andrea Olige

Andrea Olige, 42, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 21, 1956, in Big Springs, Texas. A resident for 26 years, he was a plumber.

He is survived by two sons, Taylor Olige and Chance Olige, his parents, Freddie and Essie Olige, and two brothers, Freddie Olige Jr. and Marcus Olige, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Joyce Bryant of Las Vegas and Paula Rogers of Paris, Texas; and his grandmother, Jannie Olige of Dania, Fla.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Nathaniel Scott Jr., 56, of Las Vegas died Jan. 14 in Las Vegas. A retired meat cutter and Navy veteran, he was born July 11, 1942, in Tallulah, La.

He is survived by one son, Jason Scott, one daughter, Jhannel Scott, and three brothers, Johnny Scott, Tommy Thomas and Ronnie Thomas, all of Las Vegas; and four sisters, Joann Thomas, Barbara Scott and Dora Scott, all of Las Vegas, and Arnita Thomas of Los Angeles.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Carl Stark

Carl Stark, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Oklahoma. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired pit boss.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; one daughter, Julia Stark of Las Vegas; two sons, Michael Stark of Oregon and David Stark of Atlanta; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Leila 'Lee' M. Stulz, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 4, 1923, in Detroit. A resident for five years, she was a retired department store cosmetologist.

She is survived by her husband, Rolland A.; three sons, Jim Connor of Clare, Mich., Fred Connor of Las Vegas and Albert Connor of Brighton, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Joann Page of Canton, Mich., and Barbara Seabolt of Farmington Hills, Mich.; one stepson, Gary Stulz of Rochester, Minn.; one sister, Nora Arvel of Algonac, Mich.; two brothers, Bill Moon of Albuquerque, N.M., and Fred Moon of El Paso, Texas; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her father, William C. Weissbrodt of Las Vegas; and one sister, Kimberly Jean Weissbrodt of Fort Worth, Texas.

David E. Westman, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 25, 1936, in Mora, Minn. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired Air Force senior master sergeant and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia M.; one daughter, Rochelle Westman of Las Vegas; three sisters, Betty Benson of Minneapolis, Joyce Seline of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Darlene O'Donnel of Britt, Minn.; and two brothers, Donald Westman of Rochester, Minn., and Richard Westman of Pine City, Minn.

John F. Wysocki

John F. Wysocki, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 31, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired experimental machinist in the airline industry and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marian J.; two sons, John A. Wysocki of Kansas City, Mo., and Mark A. Wysocki of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Stella Ceyko of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
