Washoe County School District police have investigated the Jan. 6 incident at Lincoln Elementary School in which Petra Wells allegedly grabbed Willy Derrico by the shoulder and shook him.
The boy told his parents Wells was mad because a pair of scissors he tossed in a basket fell on the floor.
School police have interviewed the teacher, boy and other students, and sent the case to the district attorney's office.
"We agreed not to use her (Wells) until we got the DA's report back," Superintendent Jim Hager said. "She's not working in any Washoe school."
