Brief: America West subsidiary adds leisure packages

The company had 1998 sales of $2 billion and packages golf, ski and travel bookings for about 500,000 customers a year. Vacation packages usually consist of air transportation, hotel accommodations, ground transportation and other amenities.
The Leisure Co. already offers Las Vegas tours to several resorts, including The Mirage, MGM Grand, Bally's, Caesars Palace, Circus Circus and New York-New York.
Mandalay Bay, which is due to open in March, is a $950 million resort with an 11-acre tropical water park, a 1,700-seat theater that will open with the musical "Chicago" and a 12,000-seat sports and entertainment arena that opens in April with a performance by Luciano Pavarotti.
Paris, which opens at the end of summer, is a $760 million property with a collection of French boutiques clustered around replicas of Paris, including a 50-story half-scale Eiffel Tower.
