Brief: Firm to consolidate at Summerlin office

The company's corporate headquarters at the Hughes Center will be among the offices moving to 10000 W. Charleston Blvd., at Hualapai Way. About 175 to 200 employees will move from the Hughes Center in the Wells Fargo Tower, from the Plaza at Summerlin and from The Crossing into the 71,000-square-foot facility.

Dale Erquiaga, director of marketing and community relations for Hughes, said the new building would be completed near the end of the second quarter with a June or July move-in anticipated.

He had no estimate of the cost of the move or the value of the new building, but he said economies of scale and the resolution of communications issues would be accomplished by putting nearly every employee under one roof. Erquiaga also said the move shows the company's commitment to Summerlin, where building is expected to continue for another 20 years.

Hughes will lease a portion of the first floor of the new building as well as the three other offices. Erquiaga said the lease availability plan is new and there are no leads as to what organizations would move into the existing offices.
