Funding will go to a center to be called the Barbara Greenspun WomensCARE Center of Excellence.
The money will fund the center's roster of educational programming with classes on topics ranging from diet and nutrition to childbirth, baby care, parenting, heart wellness, smoking cessation, stress management and alternative medicine. The center also offers support groups for breast cancer and breast-feeding and assistance in finding a doctor. Most classes are free or charge a nominal fee.
The donation will also fund the hospital's Maternal Child Centers.
"This generous donation will be put to excellent use at the WomensCARE Center," said Rod Davis, president of the Henderson hospital. "Our one-of-a-kind St. Rose facility represent St. Rose's commitment to quality health care services and education resources for women in our community."
