Letter: If you can't stand the smoke, avoid the casino

About 10 minutes later a young man and woman sat down next to me. As I lit up another cigarette the woman asked me if I would mind not smoking because it bothered her, and it may affect her unborn child. I replied, yes I do mind, and continued to enjoy my cigarette.

A few minutes later, the young man she was with approached me and asked me the same question. My answer to him was that I know that smoking and drinking is permitted here, so how could they possibly ask me such a dumb question like that.

When my wife and I went out to a saloon, riverboat, racetrack, or anywhere else in Chicago, we hired a baby sitter. If we couldn't have anybody watch the children, we simply stayed home.

I mean, if you don't want your children exposed to secondhand smoke, or anything else you deem as undesirable, then go someplace where it's not allowed.

I think people like those two should worry about a whole lot more for their unborn child. They complain to others about situations that they create for themselves.

No child should be subjected to that type of environment just because the immature parents can't simply stay home.
