Hollywood Casino to expand

CHICAGO -- Dallas-based Hollywood Casino Corp. said today it plans a $40 million expansion at its Aurora, Ill., riverboat gaming operation.

The current facility, which opened in 1993 in the town west of Chicago, have 977 slots and 57 table games in its 32,100-square-foot casino.

But with the advent of dockside gaming last weekend, Hollywood said it plans to build a two-level facility featuring a 50,000-square-foot main gaming level and a 25,000-square-foot mezzanine level for a poker room, a 150-seat diner, a 30-seat delicatessen and a 200-seat show lounge.

The new gaming barge would replace Hollywood's two existing vessels, City of Lights I and City of Lights II.
