K.C. gaming win off slightly

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City's four metro-area riverboats reported May revenue of $42.2 million, down slightly from $42.5 million in March and a record $42.9 million in April.
The Missouri Gaming Commission reported admissions at the four casinos slipped slightly in May to 1.82 million from 1.86 million in March and 1.83 million in April.
Before March, the Kansas City riverboats had never surpassed monthly gross revenues of $39.9 million.
The Kansas City Star quoted John Finamore of Station Casino Kansas City as saying weather is a big factor affecting casino attendance numbers.
"My theory (for the March surge) is generally it's the first decent month ... people have cabin fever," said Finamore, vice president and general manager of Station Casino Kansas City.
