Propane tank explosion snarls traffic for hours

No one was injured in the two-alarm fire. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion.

Fire officials said one propane tank exploded Thursday afternoon, then caused nine more tanks to explode.

It took firefighters about three hours to put the fire out.

Some executive offices under the parking garage were evacuated along with a nearby apartment complex. The parking garage was closed until the blaze was brought under control, said Jenn Michaels, spokeswoman for Mirage Resorts, Inc.

Spring Mountain Road on the hotel's north side and Industrial Road behind Treasure Island were shut down in both directions.

The fire caused about $20,000 in damage.
