Letter: Conservative court could save Nevada

Nevada will be dead if it winds up in front of a liberal activist court that views the concept of state sovereignty as a quaint 18th century notion, the Commerce Clause as a vehicle to draw all authority to Washington, D.C., and the de facto repeal of the Ninth and 10th Amendments as a good thing.

Nevada's congressional delegation, particularly in the Senate, continues to fight magnificently against the dump but let's face it -- at the end it's going to be Nevada and its rights as a sovereign entity under the 10th Amendment all alone before the Supreme Court.

We here in Nevada, perhaps more than people in any other state, must be very careful about who we choose not only for president but just as importantly who we send to the Senate. As for the Sun? Well, perhaps the Sun should be a little more careful about what it wishes for when it comes to the current 5-4 majority on the Supreme Court.
