MountainView offers series of programs

MountainView Senior Friends, 8524 Del Webb Blvd., is offering the following programs. Call 255-5405 to make reservations:

A free afternoon matinee "Waking Ned Devine" is being offered at 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Free blood pressure screenings will be 10-11 a.m. each Friday in July.

Kathleen Bauer, a professional and specialist in long-term care insurance, will provide facts regarding insurance in a free informal presentation from 10:30-noon Tuesday.

Rainbow offers programs on storytelling, airplanes

Two special programs will be offered at the Rainbow Library Wednesday and Sunday, part of a series of special events offered by the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District.

All ages are welcome to "Musical Storytelling With The Findell-Lugo Duo" at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Also, the principles of flight will be explored and participants can enter a paper-airplane flying contest on Sunday. Ages 6-10 can participate at 1:30 and ages 11 and older at 2:30 Sunday.

Both programs will be held at the Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive. Call 243-7307.

Drip systems focus of Saturday workshop

Desert Demonstration Gardens, 3701 W. Alta Drive, has scheduled a workshop, "The Drip in the Landscape," 9 a.m. Saturday.

Layne King of Ewing Irrigation will demonstrate some of the newest products available for drip irrigation.

He will discuss how to install and maintain drip systems and how long and how often to irrigate a landscape using a drip system.

Free class offered at St. Rose Dominican

A free class on different types of arthritis is planned 6 p.m. Thursday by the Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, 102 E. Lake Mead Drive, Henderson.

Christianne M. Yung, M.D., will discuss the different types of this inflammatory condition as well as available treatments.
