Cost of dying going up in state capital

Supervisors have approved a two-stage rate increase for the right to join six former governors and some other historic figures in Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Costs currently range from $375 for a basic no-grass plot to $1,200 for a double crypt. Veterans are free, but only if they're buried in the vet's section.
The costs will be going up 15 percent a year for the next two years.
"Maintenance is increasing. We've added some new sections to the cemetery over on the west side ... Some of our older areas and our equipment are starting to deteriorate, cemetery Director Steve Kastens told KOLO-TV in Reno.
The cemetery dates back to the 19th Century and its occupants include John Kinkead, who was governor of the state of Nevada and the territory of Alaska.
