Top gaming analysts named

Analysts Robin Farley of BT Alex. Brown and Steven Kent were named the top All-Star Analysts of the gaming industry by the Wall Street Journal.

Farley was the No. 1 stock picker in the gaming industry in 1998 with an estimated return of 22 percent, the Journal said. Dennis Forst of McDonald Investments was second with a 10 percent estimated return followed by former Salomon Smith Barney analyst W. Bruce Turner with an estimated return of a negative 9 percent. Also ranked were Joseph Coccimiglio of Prudential Securities (-10 percent) and Andrew Zarnett of Ladenburg Thalmann (-12 percent).

Kent was honored for having the most accurate earnings estimates among gaming industry analysts. Also honored for accurate earnings estimates were Harry Curtis of BancBoston Robertson Stephens, Naomi Talish of Merrill Lynch, Farley and Turner.
