Harrah's buys two properties

RENO -- Harrah's Entertainment Inc. announced the purchase of two closed properties adjacent to its Harrah's hotel-casino on Virginia Street in downtown Reno.

Harrah's said it bought the Nevada Club and Harolds Club and may demolish them and use the real estate to extend the Harrah's property with added casino attractions and amenities.

Harrah's Chairman and Chief Executive Phil Satre said Reno needs to preserve its core casino entertainment economy while simultaneously stimulating progress in order to compete in the new tourism industry.
