Letter: Use new method against gas prices

We all have to drive somewhere: work, doctor, dentist, pharmacy, taking our kids to and from school and to and from athletics. Also, many in Southern Nevada are seniors.

Boycotting or picketing the gas pumps is nearly impossible. However, a sure-fire way to bring the oil companies around would be to boycott all nonfuel items in the stores including milk, bread, fountain drinks, coffee, cigarettes and playing the slot machines. Regular grocery stores such as Albertson's, Lucky and Smith's sell all these items, and at lower prices, plus there are slot machines.

Fast foods such as McDonald's, Carl's, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken, etc. have drinks and prepared foods and are much fresher than the hot dogs and hamburgers at convenience stores.

When these places see their profits dwindling, I'll bet the gouging at the pumps will stop. The ball could easily be in the consumer's court instead of the oil companies if we all stick together and protest this overpricing of gas.
