Letter: Assisted suicide, murder not same
Wednesday, May 5, 1999 | noon
The only thing Kevorkian may be guilty of is ending the extreme suffering of those who wished to move on instead of withering away. There is a huge difference between first-degree murder and mercy killing.
All of the people who disagree need to picture themselves or a loved one going through the pain of Lou Gehrig's disease and ask themselves if they would want to live or end the suffering.
