A new, user-friendly computer terminal designed to provide people with information on programs offered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development is now up and running at Las Vegas City Hall.
The terminal, which goes by the name of "The HUD Next Door Kiosk," is located in the lobby of City Hall and is operated by touch screen commands. City Hall is located downtown at Las Vegas Boulevard and Stewart Avenue.
The kiosk provides information about buying homes, locating affordable rental housing or homeless shelters and getting job training. HUD is a federal agency that provides funding for dozens of housing and employment programs at work in cities across the country.
HUD kiosks were placed in other communities around the country on Thursday, creating a network, a HUD spokesman said.
