Letter: Political leaders should act against gasoline companies

Past practices show this gas fiasco happened last year. It has taken place again this year and the price horror will return again next April. Let wise men say, "For those who like to just forget it -- it's just a time bomb waiting to explode." Any excuses for raising the gas prices we read about in the newspapers are outright lies. Call it manipulated greed. Meanwhile these oil-bigots have gained immense profits in their price-fixing scheme.

The district attorney and our political leadership needs to act accordingly and prosecute the "oil moguls" with some hefty fines (in the millions) and remove their license to operate and do business. We put trust in our public officials to serve justice in our society. When known violations such as overpricing of gasoline are proven, we expect these violations of antitrust laws to be handled with criminal intent.
