Metro Police are looking for a man they want to question about the overnight shooting death of a 41-year-old Las Vegas resident.

Investigators want to talk to Mack Mason, a 51-year-old black man, 5-feet-8, 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes last seen wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans and a black, brimmed hat with a large feather in it, Homicide Lt. Wayne Petersen said.

Police received a call shortly after 9 p.m. Monday about a shooting at an apartment in the 900 block of D Street.

They found a man shot in the face, Petersen said.

The man, whose identity was withheld until family members could be notified, died at University Medical Center.

Mother charged in teens' crash

Lisa Anderson of Boulder City is facing charges in Municipal Court of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in connection with the traffic death of a 15-year-old boy Sunday, police said today.

The Anderson home was the site of a party for teenagers Saturday night that included alcohol, Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Scott Flabi said.

Two of the teens, including Nicholas Lynn Quinn and a 16-year-old resident of St. Jude's Ranch for Children, left the party in a borrowed car, which crashed on U.S. 95 in Henderson about 3:55 a.m. Sunday.

Quinn died as a result of the accident and the 16-year-old has been taken to Clark County Juvenile Detention Center on a manslaughter charge.

Flabi said investigators believe the mother was intoxicated at the party.

Olague gives nod to Goodman

Former Henderson Mayor Cruz Olague, who received just 1 percent of the vote in the primary for Las Vegas mayor, has endorsed Oscar Goodman, who received 49.44 percent of the vote. Developer Mark Fine, who earned 16 percent of the primary vote, has also endorsed Goodman.

The general election on June 8 will decide whether the city's next mayor is Goodman, a criminal defense attorney, or City Councilman Arnie Adamsen.

Goodman and Adamsen can be seen tonight in a televised debate on Las Vegas 1, cable channels 1 and 39. The debate will be taped earlier Tuesday and televised 8 to 9 p.m.

The Sun City Residents' Forum will also host a forum for Adamsen and Goodman 2 to 4 p.m. May 23 in the grand ballroom at the Desert Vista Center in Sun City-Summerlin.

The forum will feature six minutes for each candidate to discuss his platform, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Air Force sergeant honored for bravery

Air Force Staff Sgt. April Hefner was to be honored this morning by the Las Vegas Fire Department for saving the lives and home of a Las Vegas family.

Hefner, an oral surgeon's assistant at the Mike O'Callaghan Federal Hospital, was dropping her daughter off at school about 7 a.m. April 19 when she saw smoke coming from the garage at 3948 Wingedfoot Ave., fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

She ran to the house and alerted the occupants, a mother and four children who were unaware of the fire.

Minutes later the fire department arrived and confined the fire to the garage.
