Safety violations increase in Nevada

The Occupational Safety and Hazard Awareness Enforcement Section reported 162 of the violations involved improper use of electricity. Companies were fined $128,450 of the total $383,250 in levies issued in the January-March period.
Failure to inform people about potential hazards was second with 86 violations costing businesses $20,650.
Improper machine guarding and scaffolding violations tied for third with 51 violations each. The guarding errors cost companies $60,100 and the scaffolding problems, $40,150.
