Internet service provider sold

Access Nevada, which was founded in 1994, was bought by Telecom Wireless Corp., Englewood, Colo. Terms of the deal, which will close in mid summer, were not disclosed.

Access Nevada President Warren Harhay said the Boulder City-based Internet service provider would continue to operate as it has in the past and there would be no changes in personnel.

With about 4,000 customers, Access Nevada is one of the Las Vegas area's largest Internet access companies.

Telecom Wireless, which initially provided wireless cable service in the Florida Keys, is implementing a strategy of acquiring strong Internet access providers nationwide. For Access Nevada, it will mean improved and expanded services, including the potential for digital communication with wireless access.

"Access Nevada provides Telecom with a solid customer base and brings a dynamic marketplace that enables the company to introduce new products and services over broadband," said James Roberts, chairman of Telecom Wireless.
