Assemblyman to research brothels

Assemblyman Bob Price, D-North Las Vegas, says he's planning a trip to the Mustang Ranch brothel east of Reno but has set no date.
He has organized such tours in past sessions, although his plan for a tour during the 1997 session was abandoned following adverse publicity.
Price said he wants to take five to 10 lawmakers, including women, to the Mustang for dinner and a meeting with managers and employees.
"Prostitution is a legal business, a big business in rural counties," he said. "In some counties, they make up 30 percent of the tax base."
Assemblywoman Dawn Gibbons, R-Reno, said she might go along if the trip can be scheduled before the Legislature's mandated May 31 adjournment.
"I think it would be interesting. When else would I ever go"?:" she said.
