The day before today's grand opening of the Las Vegas Sportspark, its owner Don Schlesinger was named in a lawsuit filed by the former director of hockey, who was fired over a purported personal dispute.
The lawsuit, filed by attorney Matt Callister on behalf of former professional hockey player Michael Jorgensen, alleges a breach of his two-year employment contract, terminated in December.
Jorgensen contends that before he was hired in October he helped Schlesinger organize the roller and ice skating programs at the Sportspark at Rampart Boulevard and Vegas Drive.
The lawsuit, which seeks unspecified general and punitive damages from the former county commissioner, alleges the termination involved a dispute between Schlesinger and Jorgensen's wife.
