Property taxes in Churchill County expected to rise

The overall increase in the property tax rate would go from the current $2.51 to $2.61 per $100 assessed value.
The tax hike is subject to approval of the Nevada Department of Taxation. State law would have allowed an increase as large as 24 cents per $100, county comptroller Alan Kalt said.
