UNLV baseball team at Fresno; eyes berth in WAC tournament

UNLV's baseball team concludes its regular season at Fresno State with a three-game series this weekend. The first game is tonight at 7.
The Rebels (25-31 overall, 14-13 in the Western Athletic Conference) are tied with three teams for fourth place in the standings, while the Bulldogs (32-28, 13-14) are tied for seventh.
The top six teams advance to the WAC tournament, which begins Wednesday at Fresno State's Beiden Field.
Rice and Texas Christian have clinched. There are six teams vying for the remaining four slots. They all are within a game and a half of each other and all play each other this weekend.
"It's so confusing," UNLV sports information director Jim Gemma said of the postseason scenarios. "The easiest way to put it is UNLV has to win two out of three. That way we're in regardless."
