The Journal report cited "people familiar with the sale" as sources for the report. Mirage executives couldn't be reached for comment today.

The painting, "Landscape, Island of La Grand Jaffe," fetched a record price for a Seurat, the Journal said. It will likely go on display at Bellagio's Gallery of Fine Arts, known for its spectacular art collection that includes works by Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso and others.
