Accident kills California man

The Nevada Highway Patrol said Jeffrey W. Burke, 31, was killed in the accident Thursday night about 22 miles east of Elko.
Burke was a passenger in an eastbound pickup driven by Gina L. Arnst, 29, of Vallejo, Calif., who escaped with minor head injuries.
Troopers said driver inattention caused the vehicle to drift and overturn into the median.
Burke was not wearing a seat belt and was crushed inside the vehicle.
The 11:20 p.m. accident is under investigation.
