Letter: Titanic-themed resort would be in bad taste

Hollywood has produced three versions of a fatal ocean liner disaster over these last 40 years, and each deserves praise for remembering the effects of the final outcome over the fiction of its characters.

About 1,500 people died when the Titanic went down long ago into that middle-of-nowhere piece of ocean, and even Hollywood with its plastic heroes and bleached blond Barbie Dolls has maintained a reverence for the incident.

Not so with our very own "son of fun," Bob Stupak. Somehow the tragedy goes by him and he sees the whole thing as an excuse for a themed hotel and casino, or as Ol' Blue Eyes would have called it, another saloon.

Not only does he envision the building of the ship in which will be the principal hotel-casino, but also the deadly iceberg which will house stores, etc. If this nearly blasphemous concept finds its way onto the boards, what's next, "The Hindenburg Cafe"?

Come on, Bob. For once in your life, think before you act. The entire idea seems, at the very least, in the worst possible taste.
