Letter: Chaparral musical show an inspiration

My granddaughter, Alison England, was a member of the performing cast of approximately 300 students.

It was absolutely terrific. The talent portrayed was most remarkable and covered the entertainment repertoire of "Fiddler on the Roof," '40s to '50s Boogie Woogie, ballads, current music and many others.

I cannot begin to fathom how many hours it must have taken to bring this splendid production to such a fine fruition.

Hats off and kudos to the originator, teacher and conductor, Ms. Marsha Borovicka. She is and should be recognized as one of the most talented and dedicated teachers in the country. She is certainly the personification of what each of us would hope and pray for as both a teacher and example to our children. Further thanks and appreciation is extended to Ms. Barlow. She is such a talented pianist, arranger and performer.

Most of all, it was great and heart-warming to see this group of most talented teens dedicating, enjoying and extending their talents for the benefit of all.

Let's put the national spotlight upon them instead of the less than 1 percent of the "trash youth" that is sensationalized.

Thank you Chaparral High School. You have made the statement that our future is in good hands.
