Assembly OKs tax exemption for Angel Park

CARSON CITY -- The Assembly Tuesday gave final legislative approval to a bill that reinstates a property tax exemption for privately run Angel Park Golf Course, located in a public park in Las Vegas.

The Assembly agreed with minor amendments on Assembly Bill 668 and sent the bill to Gov. Kenny Guinn.

The measure proposed by Clark County Assessor Mark Schofield would have also given a property tax exemption to three other privately operated golf courses on public land in Southern Nevada.

Angel Park held a tax exemption since it was built in 1987 but lost it two years ago. It had paid the city fees, which went into the fund to improve parts of Angel Park.
