Fishing report — May 26, 1999

LAKE MEAD: The promise of pleasant weather for Memorial Day weekend is expected to attract a large crowd of boaters, campers and sun worshipers to the recreation area.

Fishing has been fair to good as boaters are connecting with striped bass at Rogers Bay, Fish Island and the Muddy River in the Overton Arm. There continue to be reports of surface action for stripers in the Overton Arm.

Anglers fishing in the Boulder Basin have been catching stripers at Boxcar Cove, Hemenway Harbor and Sand Island.

LAKE MOHAVE: Fishing has slowed during the past week and most anglers are struggling to catch more than two or three striped bass. Largemouth bass fishing is equally slow as anglers report they are seeing fish but they are rarely getting a bite.

EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR: Rainbow trout fishing has been outstanding and should get even better because the Nevada Division of Wildlife is scheduled to make its fourth plant of the year on Thursday.
