The Legislative Commission is the Nevada Legislature's policymaking body during the interim between biennial sessions. Its counterpart is the Interim Finance Committee, which handles financial issues when the Legislature is not in session.
The commission manages interim studies as well as dealing with policy issues and problems that arise after lawmakers go home.
Senators assigned to the commission are Republicans Ann O'Connell and Jon Porter of Las Vegas and Dean Rhoads of Tuscarora and Democrats Mike Schneider, Valerie Wiener and Dina Titus, all of Las Vegas.
Democrats among the Assembly members on the panel are Majority Leader Richard Perkins of Henderson, Barbara Buckley of Las Vegas and Bernie Anderson of Sparks. Republicans named are Sandra Tiffany and Dennis Nolan of Las Vegas and Greg Brower of Reno.
