One killed, five children injured in accident

Washoe County sheriff's deputies had few immediate details of the accident, which occurred shortly after 5 p.m. on Red Rock Road near Stead.

The children were rushed to Washoe Medical Center, where their injuries ranged from serious to critical. All were believed to be under the age of 13.

Two other adults were injured and taken to Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Deputies closed the road after the accident.
