$4 million renovation set for resort

CARSON CITY -- The Pinon Plaza Resort this week will begin a $4 million hotel expansion that will make it Carson City's second-largest resort.
Only the Ormsby House Hotel and Casino will have more rooms once the Pinon Plaza's new 84-room hotel wing is finished by Memorial Day.
The new wing will adjoin the Pinon Plaza's existing 65-room hotel.
Clark Russell, president of Capital City Entertainment Inc., which owns the Pinon Plaza, said there could be more expansions in the future if the latest proves successful.
"If it works like we expect it to, we will keep truckin' on down the road," he said.
