Megabucks nears $20 million

The Megabucks progressive slot jackpot is approaching $20 million, making it the third-largest slot jackpot in gaming history, International Game Technology said Tuesday.
The world's largest slot jackpot -- $27.6 million -- was won Nov. 15, 1998, on a Megabucks machine at Palace Station. The second largest was hit June 1 at Caesars Palace for $21.2 million.
Slot expert John Robison said in the Chance and Circumstance gambling newsletter this summer that the chance of hitting Megabucks is 1 in 49,836,032 spins.
