The latest National Association of Realtors' survey found Nevada led the Western United States in existing home sales during the third quarter this year.
The NAR said 13,200 existing homes were sold in Nevada during the third quarter, up 24 percent from the same period last year. Overall home resales in the West rose 7.2 percent last quarter.
The report said strong demand by entry level and trade-up home buyers, continued affordability and consumer confidence contributed to the increase in home sales.
Nationally, Vermont led the nation with a 35.6 percent year-to-year increase in home resales.
