Wildfires finally dying

The Signboard blaze 45 miles southeast of Jackpot was contained at 4 p.m. Tuesday and crews are being demobilized.
No homes were damaged and no major injuries were reported. The fire burned 4,160 acres of Sage, grass and juniper. The size of the blaze is down slightly from earlier estimates of 4,500 acres.
The cost of fighting the fire is pegged at $525,000.
The total number of acres burned in Nevada this year now is put at 1.7 million acres, with five of the nation's 10 largest wildland blazes scorching areas of the vast state.
