LV company mum on firing of official

Las Vegas-based developer Saxton Inc. said it fired Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President Kirk Scherer. Chief Executive Officer James Saxton has assumed Scherer's responsibilities while the company searches for a replacement.

Company officials declined to comment on the reason for Scherer's dismissal.

Scherer joined Saxton in September 1998. He'd previously served as CFO for Paul-Son Gaming Corp.

Saxton develops real estate projects in several Southwestern markets including Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, Salt Lake City and Reno.
