Trinidad to face Reid at Caesars

At a Sunday press conference at the Las Vegas Hilton, promoters Don King and Dan Goossen announced they will hold a March 4 card at Caesars Palace in which World Boxing Association junior middleweight champion David Reid will defend his title against Felix Trinidad.

Trinidad is the World Boxing Council and International Boxing Federation champion at 147 pounds but will fight Reid at 154.

Caesars may construct a stadium for the one-day event.

Trinidad, 36-0 and coming off a Sept. 18 victory over Oscar De La Hoya, was in Las Vegas over the weekend as his father and King attempted to put together a rematch with De La Hoya's promoter, Bob Arum. But when the two sides couldn't come to specific terms beyond the possibility of a summer rematch, Trinidad took the fight with Reid.

"I feel kind of bad," Reid said. "I'm going to mess up Felix's plans."

Reid is 14-0.
