First woman elected to board

Cynthia Li Vigni is the new secretary and treasurer of the Las Vegas chapter of the Honorable Kentucky Colonels, a charitable organization.

Vigni is the first woman in the country to be elected to a governing board of colonels.

Boyd will give $1 million to hospital

Boyd Gaming Corp. pledged $1 million to build and equip the Adolescent and Pediatric Unit at St. Rose Dominican Hospital -- Siena Campus.

The unit will include seven patient rooms, a playroom, an examination room and a nursing station. The contribution will also establish a perpetual fund to ensure the continued support for the pediatric program.
