Ex-Wells Fargo execs lead bank expansion

Sun Community Bancorp Ltd., parent company of Las Vegas' Nevada Community Bancorp., plans to open several Northern California banks.

To oversee the expansion, the Phoenix-based company has formed a strategic management group including two former Wells Fargo executives.

Kathleen Lucier, Wells' former Southwest regional executive vice president, and Joseph Stiglich, former Wells' national vice chairman, will work with Sun Community Chairman Joseph Reid on the proposed California expansion.

In Las Vegas, Nevada Community Bancorp. currently operates Desert Community Bank. The company plans to open two more Las Vegas banks within the next three months.
