Travel executives to meet in Las Vegas

The Society of Incentive & Travel Executives (SITE), whose members develop motivational programs to spur business success, will meet at the Bellagio hotel-casino in Las Vegas Dec. 5-9.

SITE last visited Las Vegas in 1989, when the city had 45,000 fewer hotel rooms and 13 million fewer visitors annually. Members are eager to see the new Las Vegas, said SITE President Wendy Moffat.

"The final SITE conference of the century is built around showcasing this city's newest attractions and offerings for incentive programs," she said.

SITE's international conference provides members with a chance to develop strategies to improve incentive products and develop new approaches to changing business and economic demographics.

Many businesses offer incentive programs to their best-performing employees that include company-paid trips to popular vacation destinations. More than 20 Las Vegas incentive professionals are working on programs that will give other SITE members a first-hand view of the changes in Las Vegas, said Jim Lauster, a corporate incentive sales executive with the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority.
