Firefighters honored after record season

The event was a tribute to firefighters who fought fires that burned more than 1.6 million acres of rangeland, Nevada's worst fire season on record.
"I'm just here to say thank you to so many people and thousands who came from all over America to help Nevada," Guinn told the firefighters at the Elko Convention Center.
Guinn noted that 46 percent of all the nation's wildland firefighters gathered in Nevada at one point to help the state out.
"I thought we should pay honor to that at a later date and that's what we are doing today," he said.
