Trees, lights festival will begin Wednesday

The Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada will be hosting its 11th annual Festival of Trees and Lights Wednesday through Saturday at Paris Las Vegas.

More than 10,000 visitors are expected to visit the display of trees decorated with tens of thousands of lights in a wonderland of toys and gingerbread, crafts and gifts. All proceeds benefit the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada. Call 648-1414.

Henderson will host event at two locations

The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a homemade-craft show 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

The event will take place simultaneously at two of the city's full-service recreation centers: Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway, and Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road, both in Henderson. Admission at either site is free.

The event will feature a variety of homemade items suitable for home decorating or gift giving. A large number of holiday items will also be on display. For more information or booth reservation details, call 435-3814 or 565-2880.

UMC's Lakes clinic to find new home

Beginning Nov. 29 the UMC Lakes Quick Care office will move to 9320 W. Sahara Ave.

UMC Lakes' Primary Care unit will remain at the old location, 2760 Lake Sahara Drive. For more information call Jane Sobczak at 383-3850.
