Police try to identify body found in desert

The body, believed to be that of a man, was badly decomposed, leading police to believe it had been there for several months. The body was found Friday in an area rarely traveled by hikers.

Police spent most of Friday scouring the area for clues and gathering remains. The body has been sent to the Clark County coroner's office, which will try to identify the remains.

Las Vegas police said there was no reason to suspect foul play.
