Metro Police veteran sues department

A 19-year Metro Police veteran filed a discrimination lawsuit against the department Tuesday.
According to the lawsuit, which was filed in U.S. District Court, Debra Gauthier, 42, has been harassed and retaliated against since November 1997 when she filed a sex discrimination complaint against the department with the Nevada Equal Rights Commission.
Gauthier, who was hired in November 1980, was also relieved of duty for more than five months, the lawsuit states.
