Letter: Eliminate council carpetbaggers
Friday, Sept. 3, 1999 | 9:22 a.m.
If they are honorable, the existing Las Vegas City Council members would agree that anyone appointed to the newly created City Council wards would have had to vote in the last election from a registered address in the new district they will represent.
This would eliminate the carpetbaggers and others who have moved since the last general election, but will allow them the seniority for the next election.
A second provision should be that no consideration will be given to anyone who is now receiving their income from a tax-supported source.
