Editorial: Homeless women given more dignity

When MASH Village closed its temporary winter shelter in March it meant that homeless women couldn't find restrooms in the evening, because most shelters close their doors for the night. But Catholic Charities, Clark County and the cities of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas have all come together to convert a restroom at the Lied Dining Facility into a women's restroom that can be used after dark.

This is a nice gesture to afford homeless women the dignity they deserve. It is hoped this will provide some momentum for local officials to work closer on some of the larger homeless issues confronting the valley, including a regional approach that to date has been borne too heavily by the city of Las Vegas and local charities.
