Fires rise again in Elko

The blaze broke out Sunday afternoon in Hoppie Canyon, 7 miles northwest of Montello. At last word, it had covered about 200 acres of cheat grass, sage and light trees.
No structures are threatened and several crews are working the blaze, assisted by two air tankers and volunteer firefighters. Fire officials say the blaze was human-caused.
